TALENTED performers from a youth drama group will perform a musical on home territory this week before heading for London's West End.
Spennymoor Youth Theatre Group's 80 cast members will stage Fame The Musical at the town's leisure centre from tonight until Saturday.
Next month, half the cast will represent the group when they perform three numbers from the show in The Young Performers' Variety Show, at Her Majesty's Theatre in London.
Committee member Bev Stobbart said: "To be chosen for the final show is a fantastic opportunity for members and everyone is excited and very proud about the chance to perform on a West End stage."
Producer Ann Sproat said tickets are selling quickly and that the production promised to be a great night for everyone.
A few tickets are still available to see the show at Spennymoor Leisure Centre, at 7.30pm, each night, priced £6 for adults and £5 for children from the venue on (01388) 815827, or Christina Newton on (01388) 818136
