A Darlington care home for the elderly is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Stanton Hall, owned by Supreme Care Homes, opened in 1982 to accommodate 55 residents, and is now home to 64 people. The event will be marked with a party for residents on November 9.
CHARITY AUCTION: A radio charity auction, organised by Darlington Rotary Club and Alpha Radio, raised £776 to buy equipment for Darlington's Talking Newspaper for the Blind.
WHIST DRIVE: The Durham County Federation of Women's Institutes is holding a whist drive at Evenwood Parish Hall on Saturday, at 2pm.
FLAG DAY: A flag day for Christian Aid in Darlington raised £438.
DINNER DANCE: Sedgefield Show dinner dance will be held on Saturday, November 23, in Ferryhill Masonic Hall, at 7pm. Tickets are available on 01740 620330.
CHARITY NIGHT: There will be a Halloween fancy dress party and karaoke disco at the Bridge Inn, Middleton-in-Teesdale, from 8pm on Saturday. All proceeds from the event will go to Breast Cancer Care and the Darlington and Teesdale Breast Cancer Group.
