Durham County Super League
Horden have clinched the league title with two games to spare when they beat the visiting Durham B 11-3, this result should put a top three finish out the reach of Durham B. Horden had two wins from Darren Jones, Steve Nixon, Shaun Williams and James Evans, one win each for John Bourne, Tommy Forster and Ged Evans. Durham B replied with wins from Gary Carr, Trevor Walton and Michael Rhodes.
The Aycliffe derby finished all square at 7-7. The A team had two wins from Dave Bromley and Craig Poskett, one win each from Eddie Mackay, Johnny and Christopher Mason. The B team had two wins from Ross Killip and one win each from Paul Wade, Gary Spooner, Carl Little, Richie Bellwood and Stephen Jones.
Durham A entertained Bishop Auckland and won 8-6. Durham's only two point winner was Helen Littlewood and one win each from Lee Holdsworth, Ben Bowen, Paul Shutt, Chris Greenwell, Dave Neill and Dave Ferguson. Bishop replied with two wins from Ron Wright and Peter Mernor, one win each from David Baird and David Jacomb.
Shildon who were joint second with Crook B had a free week and Crook took advantage when they travelled to Consett and came away with a 8-6 win.
John Bourne (Horden) leads the player of the year standings on 29 wins, followed by Darren Jones (Horden) and Dave Bromley (Aycliffe A) on 26 wins.
