CHILDREN at a village playgroup had a visit from Bob the Builder on Tuesday when he unveiled their art work celebrating the Queen's golden jubilee.
The under-fives from the Cotherstone Pre-school Playtime Group left their mark by making hand prints in terracotta tiles with the help of potter Judy Caplin.
The 23 prints, with each child's name above, are framed by fired picture tiles made by the children. The work has been mounted in the village hall.
Bob, alias parent Mike Eddy, had his costume paid for by local firm J and J G Gill.
Chris Tyler, who helps run the group, said: "We wanted to do something different to mark the golden jubilee and we wanted something that would last a long time so that the children could look back on it as they grew older."
The picture tiles create an impression of what was important to each child during 2002. Subjects covered everything from sheep to the World Cup.
A contribution by parents towards the making of the tiles raised £57.50 for the Cotherstone School buildings appeal.
The playtime group runs on Tuesday afternoons at the village hall from 1-3pm.
