The second game ended 5-2 with Jak Jex again netting a brace other scorers were Leon Wright, Lewis Hamilton and a scintillating free kick from Adam completing the scoring. Man of the match was Leon Wright.
Thirsk Falcons: THE Falcons Under-13s encountered their toughest challenge of the season so far with a 5-4 victory at Darlington Spraire Lads.
Thirsk raced to a 2-0 lead, Robbie Fountain and saw Raw both converting following corners. However a fired-up Darlo side battled back, exploiting defensive errors to lead 3-2. A shell-shocked falcons regrouped and just before half time equalised, Fountain burying his second.
Thirsk appeared more aggressive after half time and were rewarded when Dion Costick fired a superb Beckham-esque free kick into the top left corner to put Falcons ahead 4-3. Darlington again levelled however, with four minutes remaining, Fountain burst down the right and swept an angled shot into the net, completing a terrific hat trick and snatching all three points for an out of sorts Thirsk.
The Under-10s travelled to Catterick Village. Thirsk A played Catterick A and were unlucky to lose 3-2 after creating several good chances, Daniel Easton scoring both of Thirsk's goals.
Thirsk B were convincing 4-0 winners against Catterick B, Liam Evans (2) and Matty Boyne (2) scoring the goals.
Brompton Juniors: THE Under-14s' 6-1 victory over Saltburn Athletic was marred by the news that Lawrence Rab broke his leg in the first half everybody at Brompton wishes him a speedy recovery.
Brompton opened the scoring on ten minutes when Stefan Pearsons long range free kick was pushed on to the post and skipper William Bunn chested in the rebound. For the second an excellent cross by Kyle Fedyszyn was chested down by Pearson to Scott Goodrum who shot flew in from 20 meters.
Bromptons third came in the first min of the second half when Pearson's cross was headed home by Goodrum. Saltburn pulled one back in the 45th min with a long range shot but Brompton went straight up the other end and Goodrum completed his first hat-trick with a simple tap in from Pearson's parried shot.
Substitute James Robson produced an excellent performance by scoring two well-taken goals. The matchball sponsor was Charter Fuels and Brompton's man of the match was Scott Goodrum.
Brompton Under-16s drew 1-1 with Bedale. Brompton controlled much of the first half and went into the break 1-0 up after Tony Fryer volleyed home from a corner.
Both teams created several chances only to be let down by poor finishing. Bedale scored their equaliser from the penalty spot by man of the match Stowes. Bromptons man of the match was Mark Gatto after another excellent display of wing play.
A cold frosty start but the pitch was in good shape as the Under-9s took on Darlington Albion. Brompton were without four A team regulars which gave some squad players an opportunity for a match.
The game got off to a good start with an early goal from captain Oliver Lowther, this was well worked with midfielder Adam Wilson. Shortly after this Robert Maclean had to be substituted through injury and early in the second half Lowther was also taken off injured.
Albion pulled two goals back in what was an entertaining match as Brompton were passing the ball around well but the pressure was not paying off while Daniel Macfarland was having a good game in defence as was Mark Spraggon in midfield.
Spraggon never stopped running supporting attack when needed and making crucial tackles in defence and at nearly full time Adam Wilson Scored a delightful goal to earn Brompton a well-deserved draw. Both Jack Cullen and Daniel Hills enjoyed good debuts.
The second match between the two teams saw goalkeeper Lee Taylor being replaced through injury. He was very assured as usual in the first game and as a result was missed. Robert Maclean deputised in goal but with team changes by Albion the cold and tiredness were starting to affect the Brompton lads. This was to take nothing from Albion who played some lovely football and dominated whole game. The only bright spots for Brompton were a goal from Oliver Lowther who played on though injured, and the performance of Mark Spraggon who never gave up the cause for Brompton with his effort and running. Lowther, Wilson and Spraggon all came close to scoring but it was always going to be Albion's game and they turned out deserved 8-1 winners.

AWS
Against Barny FC, AWS Yellow kicked off on what was a cold and frosty morning and immediately started to apply pressure on Barny with some challenging runs by the wingers George Brisco and Liam Ryan.
The pressure soon paid off when after eight minutes Liam Ryan scored a wonderful goal after some good passing down the right hand side.
Barny FC were now more determined started to make some good passes themselves and started to challenge the AWS goal area. Some good defending by Dominc Barker, Tyler Lowe and Goal Keeper Brett Harker managed to keep the score at 1-0.
Then on the 12th minute Sam Burgess made a penetrating solo run to score a second goal. AWS then applied more pressure on Barny FC with some good moves between the forwards and midfield with the centre forward Alister Stuart coming close on a number of occasions.
The second half saw the introduction of Nicky Clarke and Jason Hughes and AWS continued to dominate and forced many corners which Liam Ryan dutifully took to good effect. Sam Burgess soon took advantage of the constant excellent clearance from defence and scored his second goal.
With the score at 3-0 the manager reintroduced Dominic Barker to change formation to 3-2-1 in order to protect the lead. This worked as the defence strengthened their hold on the Barny FC forwards with goalkeeper Brett Harker making some excellent saves and kicks which provided excellent breakaway opportunities for the midfield and forward. It was near full time when Liam Ryan managed to score his second goal to end the game 4-0 to AWS.
Man of the match was awarded to Dominic Barker for his excellent performance in defence particularly his tackling and marking skills.
When AWS Red Team played, Barny FC kicked off more determined against the more junior AWS Red team and applied pressure straight away. Some excellent defensive clearances from Fraser Lane and Ryan Garrett saw a number of corners for Barny FC come to nothing.
With Thomas Moore providing some excellent clearance passes up field to the midfield duo of Scott Mathews and Micheal Brown this resulted in AWS been able to apply some of their own pressure on the Barny defence.
The result of this pressure ended in an excellent solo goal for Micheal Brown to give AWS the lead just before half time. This almost became 2-0 when after an excellent run from defence by William Dalgliesh his shot went just wide after he had slipped on the ball.
In the second half the manger changed personnel and brought on Jake McCormack and Mathew Fraser and moved William Dalgliesh up front. This slightly disjointed the team and after holding out for five minutes Barny FC managed to equalise with a scrambled goal.
Towards the end it was constant pressure from Barny FC who had many corners. These where thwarted by the excellent defending of Fraser Lane, Thomas Moore and many saves from the goalkeeper Jake Boardman which kept AWS in the game. The game soon ended thankfully for a well earned 1-1 draw for AWS.
The man of the match award went to Ryan Garrett for his great tackling skills and his all round awareness and reading of the game which meant him been in the right place at the right time.
