After last week's good performances in the Minor Cup some clubs were let down badly by the absence of some of their members.
Darlington The Mowden visited their bogey ground at Stillington, and once again came away empty handed, after a hard no quarters given encounter The Royal put away their chances to come out 5-1 victors, it was Paul Cleary who was on target again with four, Wayne Muldowney hitting the other, Richard Dodsworth scored The Mowden consolation.
The Darlington RA Youth bandwagon rolled on with this week's victims being Darlington GSOB who went down 9-0. The line was led well by Darren Kokes who notched himself four, one apiece going to Ross Wetherell, Dean Lawson, Carl Moss, James Parkinson and Mark Swanwick, for the Old Boys stand-in keeper Paul Rogers had an outstanding game denying Youth on numerous occasions.
Darlington AFC Greyhound once again could only muster ten players on their visit to Shildon Elm Road WMC, after a good even first half which ended 5-3 in favour of the hosts, the Greyhound boys tired in the second to finally go down 11-3, Darryl Meadows accounted for five with a hat-trick going to Richard Nash, Thomas Louden (2) and Chris Ross rounded off their scoring, for Greyhound Mike Bainbridge hit a brace the other going to Paul Prince.
Aycliffe Saints led Bishopton Hoppers Transport 3-0 at the interval, early into the second, Hoppers were reduced to nine after a clash of heads, with only the bare 11 another player came off to take the injured player (with a nasty split ) to hospital, from then on it was much in Saints favour as Hoppers lost interest and the score finished 11-0, four went to Jonathan Hall, two for Jonathan Craig and one each for Gary Hancock, Craig Hancock, Kyle Hancock, Daniel Craig and Michael Cave.
The woodwork came to the defence of both Hurworth Otter & Fish and Chilton Wheatsheaf Wanderers on more than one occasion but in the end it was Otter who found the back of the net most to run out 6-2 winners. For Wheatsheaf David Tate and Craig Mason were on target.
Darlington Skerne Park picked up their first points at the expense of Newton Aycliffe Navy Club thanks to some fine keeping by Skerne Parks keeper, they led 2-0 at the interval with Navy Club coming back in the second to level, one or two missed chances by Club proved costly as Skerne broke to go 3-2 up. Club hit back once again to level but Skerne Park kept fighting and snatched the winner. Arron Robson hit a brace and Paul Blackett converted a penalty for Navy Club, Paul Hanafin hit a hat-trick with Kevin Duggan knocking in penalty for Skerne Park.
