New County North Durham Youth League

Birtley comfortably defeated Blaydon 4-0 in the Under-16 division when Ross Fanning (2), Barry Morgan and Sam Johnson were the scorers.

Beamish lost 4-0 on their visit to Leam Rangers whose target men were Steve Roberts (2), John Storey and Michael Gore.

Robert Consett, Paul Cowler and Chris Gray were all on the mark in Wardley's 3-1 success over Rutherford whose only response was credited to Craig Clifford.

Cleveland Hall and Consett fought out a 2-2 draw, while Blackfyne ended 4-2 in front of Wylam, thanks to strikes by Stuart McKenna (2), David Thompson and Craig Milburn. Adrian Sutcliffe and Robert Moore were on the mark for Wylam.

In the Under-17 division Redheugh eased their way to a 3-0 success at home to Blaydon when Tony Thirkeld bagged a brace of goals and Stephen Richardson also netted.

Leam Rangers won 5-1 at Consett when Chris McAteer (2), Robert Houghton (2) and Nicky Langston all hit the target. Daniel Appleby scored a consolation goal for Consett.

Montagus Boys Club hammered Prudhoe Town 9-0 when most of the goals came from Michael Cross with a hat-trick, Stephen Buzzeo (2) and Stephen Shaw (2).

Gavin Clews rifled four goals, Shaun Hodgson hit a hat-trick and Ben Manning bagged a brace as Blackfyne delivered a crushing 9-0 defeat on Wear Valley.

Aidan McCormick was Swalwell's only scorer when they went down 5-1 at home to Felling for whom Anthony Thompson, Stephen Richardson and Clifford Moore all found the net.

Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

Chris Jennings and Connor Cruddace both scored twice leading Blackfyne to a decisive victory over Redheugh in the Under-11 division. Felling also scored six times defeating Consett when Lewis Reynolds and Sammy Thomas were other players to find the net on two occasions. Heworth hit Winlaton with a 5-0 defeat, Low Fell went one better ending 6-0 in front of Prudhoe when Ricky Fenwick hit a hat-trick, while Beamish were pressed all the way before seeing off Hebburn by a 2-1 margin.

In the Under-12 section Whickham Fellside led the way with a 7-0 success at Swalwell when most of the goals were scored by Scott Martindale (4) and Elliott Miller (2). Chopwell just edged Beamish 2-1 while Winlaton finished 4-2 in front of Redheugh when Lee Best scored twice.

At Under-13 level the highest score of the day was recorded by Leam Rangers who hit Winlaton 6-0 when Michael Currie recorded a hat-trick, so too did Chris Stephenson for Cleveland Hall enabling his side to defeat Blaydon 5-0 and Redheugh had the better of Low Fell winning by a three goals margin.

One game was played in the Under-14 division and Blaydon ended 6-1 in front of Consett. Shaun Vipond and Shaun Cegars both found the net on two occasions.

In the Under-14 division league cup there were victories for Beamish, Redheugh and Whickham Glebe. A hat-trick from Craig Paley featured a 5-3 success for Beamish at Felling; Redheugh ended 2-1 in front of Leam Rangers, while Whickham Glebe defeated Cooperhall 5-1 when Michael Banks bagged a brace of goals.

In the Under-15 division Carl Pichea scored three times in Blaydon's 4-3 success at Blackfyne while goals from James Prince (4), Gary Beadle (2) and Thomas Wilson (2) enabled Stocksfield to romp home 9-1 at the expense of Rutherford.

In other games Consett defeated Beamish 2-1, Cleveland Hall hit Leam Rangers 5-1 while Felling put nine goals past Redheugh, who managed just two in reply.

Low Fell 0 v 2 Cramlington

Aevenly matched game saw Cramlington come out on top.Low Fell took the lead from close range and then doubled it when they caught Low Fell on the counter attack. The goals came from Holly Ritchie and Cara Moran, whilst players of the match were Sophie Parish and Courtney Vasher.

South Durham Royals 0 v 3 SAFC 24/7

This was an excellent game played in a competitive spirit and saw SAFC take the lead after 25 minutes. Sunderland scored a second after 40 minutes, but Royals continued to seek a goal. Sunderland completed the scoring in the last 5 minutes. Scorers for Sunderland were Lauren Ramshaw, Jessica Clarke and Jade Clarke whilst Stephanie Hartley and Lauren Ramshaw recieved players of the match.

Barnard Castle 3 v 7 M'brough FITC

Middlesbrough settled down the quicker and were 3-0 up at the end of the first quarter. The second and third quarter saw Barnard Castle push forward and the score became 5-2. Castle could have scored more but the Middlesbrough keeper was in excellent form. In the final quarter Middlesbrough added 2 more goals whilst Barnard Castle scored again directly from a corner. Scorers were: Middlesbrough - Player of the match Jessica Hughes (2), Gemma Roper (2), Rebecca Stephenson (3), Barnard Castle - Player of the match Danielle Scarr, Nichola Dawson, Stephanie Hutchinson.

Norton & Stock. 2 v 3 Simply Lasses

Darlington opened the scoring after 5 minutes through Carly Wrangham. 5 minutes later Norton & Stockton equalised. Wrangham added another but Norton & Stockton again equalised. The winner came from Zoe Cooke. Goals for Norton & Stockton came from Christy Cooke and Phillipa Thomas. Players of the match were Carly Wrangham and Amy Pratt.

Billingham 3 v 3 St. Francis

An evenly fought match saw Billingham open the scoring after 2 minutes and St. Francis equalising after 5. End to end football saw both teams have chances and a draw was a faie result.Scorers were Billingham - Jessica Close(2) and player of the match Rachel Turner Holmes, St. Francis player of the match Sarah Rowbotham (3)

Stock. West End 11 v 1 Seaton Carew

An evenly fought first quarter saw Stockton come out 1-0 up. Stockton came out slightly stronger in the second quarter and were 5-0 up at half time.Stockton's confidence soared and they attacked with zest. At the end of the third quarter it was 9-0. In the final quarter, Stockton still looked strong but eased off towards the end. Seaton worked hard and all credit to them. Scorers were Stockton W.E - Rebecca Moore (2), Sara Ellis (4) and player of the match Vicki Hutchinson (4), one own goal, Seaton Lucy Beha and player of the match was Vicki Martin

Marton 7 v 2 Spraire Lasses

Marton took the lead after 6 minutes and then continued to attack but both keepers were in outstanding form. Spraire equalised on 22 minutes on the break. Marton added 2 more goals making it 3-1 going into the third quarter. Spraire broke again and scored making it 3-2, but Marton replied 2 minutes later. In the final quarter Sammy Conroy scored her hat trick. Players of the match were Emily Bateman and Katie McTague. Newcastle 0 v 3 Blyth Town

Newcastle were the stronger team in the first quarter and Blyth were in the second and scored just before half time. The third and fourth quarters were tight and Blyth took advantages of their chances making the final score 3-0. Scorers Player of the match Sarah Page (1), Kathryn Allington (1) and Claire Pitt (1) player of the match for Newcastle was Rachel Armstrong

Lumley Lasses 0 v 7 Boldon

Boldon opened the scoring in the first minute and conitnued to dominate, scoring 4 more goals in the second quarter. Lumley played well but couldnt break the Boldon defence. 2 final goals in the third quarter completed the scoring. Players of the match were Amy Gaskell and Stacey Bonney. Scorers were Jessie Roberts, Victoria Sheriff, Sarah Bowey, Stephania Shaw, Alex Turbitt and Sophie Williams (2)

North Shields Juniors 0 v 5 Newcastle Juniors

Both teams started their season with a competitive match with North Shields playing their first game at a competitive level. They competed well against a skilfull Newcastle squad who were well organised. Players of the match were Ruth Sutcliffe for Newcastle and Charlotte Elliot for North Shields. A special mention to both teams on their sporting behaviour which was a credit to their clubs. Scorers Lisa Moore, Rachel Ball, Claire Stubbs, Ruth Sutcliffe and Elizabeth Tulif.

Norton & Stock. 2 v 4 Lumley Lasses

Norton took an early lead in the first period, with Lumley equalising early into the second 15 minute period. Norton applied pressure and hit the post and bar before finally getting their second before half time. Lumley then started the next period in fine style and finished the stronger team and eventually running out worthy winners. Scorers were Girl of the match for Norton Hayley Pratt (2) and for Lumley Emma Preston, Kristina Minto (2) and player of the match Sarah Unwin.

Under-14s

Forest Hall 2 v 11 Lumley Lasses

Lumley started strongly scoring from their first attack down the right wing with a goal from Jemma Dinning. after 15 minutes the score was 4-0 to Lumley as their experience began to show. As the game progressed Forest Hall started to pass thye ball around and were rewarded with a goal from Steffi Hewitt after some neat passing and crossing between Hudson and Riseborough. The second half started with Lumley scoring 4 quick goals with a heavy pitch tiredness started to set in and Forest Hall scored a second goal again coming from Hewitt. It was not to be Forest Halls day as Lumley ran out victors by 11-2. Player of match for Forest Hall was Sarah Taylor and for Lumley was Jemma Dinning who also scored 3 goals. Other Scorers for Lumley were Kristina Minto (5) and Natalie Garrett (3)

Newcastle Juniors 1 v 8 Marton

The game started off very tight with both sides looking confident when going forward. Newcastle had a lot of possession throughout the game but it was Marton who were quicker on the break and scored 4 goals in ten minutes. However Newcastle replied 5 minutes later only to see Marton hit the net again to make the score 5-1 to the visitors at half time. The second half started with Newcastle having a lot of the possession but Marton were patient and scored a further three well executed goals.

Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League

Redheugh missed the chance to go top of the table when they were beaten by Chester-le-Street, who have won four and drawn two of their six games.

It was the first time this season that Redheugh have conceded points and they are still one point adrift of Walker Central with a match in hand. Chester-le-Street had the better of the exchanges, especially in the second period and after Paul McDonald gave them the lead, Andrew Smith added a second decisive goal.

Whitley Bay visited Consett and won 5-2 when all seven goals were scored during the second 45 minutes. David Lumley and Nils Botteher were both on target for the Steelmen, but Whitley Bay ran out easy winners when Scott Blandford, Chris Johnson, Colin Lows and Phil Gray (2) all his the target.

One tie was played in the league cup and following an exciting nine goals encounter New Hartley finished 5-4 ahead of West Denton, who led 3-2 at the halfway stage. Stephen Reay (2), Gavin Swales and Andrew Burnesden all found the net for West Denton with Daniel Reay, Michael Clark, Mark Grant, Lee McAndrew and Michael Douglas replying for New Hartley.
