Jesmond Parish Church opened a three point lead over Metro Church Sunderland with a 3-0 win at Bethshan Christian Centre.
Jon Cook, David Angier and Kieron McGrane connecting for Jesmond. Ryan Pender and Jon Boyd gave Metro Church Sunderland a 2-1 lead over Lanchester Chapel. Karl Hepplewhite netting for Lanchester.
Hepplewhite went on to score his hat trick with Nick Tinkler giving Lanchester a 4-2 lead. Ten minutes to go Pender got his second and Jon Lumb scored to finish the match 4-4.
Monkwearmouth Christians lost ground with their first loss of the season at Stranton Saints Hartlepool. Saints went 4-0 ahead with two goals in each half. Martin Skiring and Andy Hagon netting first with a Paul Gough double in the second half David Kennedy netted twice for Monkwearmouth.
Consett Churches lost their first home match and Ryton Churches got their first win Michael McKenna, Peter Sutherland and Graerne Dixon put Ryton 3-0 up with Andrew Pooley scoring for Consett.
Stakeford Methodist Church were at home to Saint Peter's Low Fell and faced them with nine men. Paul Armstrong scored for Stakeford. Neil McCarten equalised for Saint Peter's before half time. Armstrong got his second with ten minutes left, backs against the wall they held on for a 2-1 win.
Airport Church Newcastle went into a 2-0 lead from Gary Beresford and Mark Huck with Chris Stratford pulling a goal back for Whitley Bay Churches with no further goals the match ended 2-1 in Airport's favour.
The Second Division saw Saint Aiden's Chapel Castington go joint top with a 3-0 lead at Middlesbrough Baptist's Clint Storey, Chris Oldenroyd and Neil Robinson responsible for the scoring.
For the second week running Heworth Christian Fellowship surged into a lead this week 3-0 over Jesmond Parish Athenians with Nick Rowling netting twice and a strike from Paul Charles and then let in Jason Alexander twice and Keith Chambers to finish the match 3-3
Bethany Christian Centre moved into third place with a 7-1 home demolishing of Whitley Bay Baptist Church. Richard Hartis (2), Craig Richardson (2) and goals from David Angus, Roger Raiye and Ronnie Smith. Baptist's from Sam Storey. City Church Newcastle and Stockton Baptist Tabernacle first meeting ever saw City Church getting their first win of the season tied at 3-3 at the break with Shahab Makvandi scored twice with Phil Bradford getting the third. Rob Nixon, John Bey and David Clark for Tabernacle.
Makvandi completed his hat-trick with Matt Barron also scoring for City to win 5-3.
Jesmond Parish Corinthians and Yarm Emmanuel shared the points with 2-2 draw. Yarm led 2-0 from Jon DevIin and Marcus Laing with Jamie Church and Sam Cunningham squaring the match.
The first half ended 2-2 at Saint John's Snod's Edge from Ray Wilkinson (2) with Rama K scoring twice for Heaton Hearts. Rama scored again in the second half and a shot from Dula Miah to gave Heaton a 4-2 lead. Martin Thompson and Mark Shaw pulled the match round for a 4-4 draw.
