Low Fell 0 v 2 Cramlington
Aevenly matched game saw Cramlington come out on top. Cramlington took the lead from close range and then doubled it when they caught Low Fell on the counter attack. The goals came from Holly Ritchie and Cara Moran, whilst players of the match were Sophie Parish and Courtney Vasher.
Barnard Castle 3 v 7 M'brough FITC
Middlesbrough settled down the quicker and were 3-0 up at the end of the first quarter. The second and third quarter saw Barnard Castle push forward and the score became 5-2. Castle could have scored more but the Middlesbrough keeper was in excellent form. In the final quarter Middlesbrough added 2 more goals whilst Barnard Castle scored again directly from a corner. Scorers were: Middlesbrough - Player of the match Jessica Hughes (2), Gemma Roper (2), Rebecca Stephenson (3), Barnard Castle - Player of the match Danielle Scarr, Nichola Dawson, Stephanie Hutchinson.
Norton & Stock. 2 v 3 Simply Lasses
Darlington opened the scoring after 5 minutes through Carly Wrangham. 5 minutes later Norton & Stockton equalised. Wrangham added another but Norton & Stockton again equalised. The winner came from Zoe Cooke. Goals for Norton & Stockton came from Christy Cooke and Phillipa Thomas. Players of the match were Carly Wrangham and Amy Pratt.
Billingham 3 v 3 St. Francis
An evenly fought match saw Billingham open the scoring after 2 minutes and St. Francis equalising after 5. End to end football saw both teams have chances and a draw was a faie result.Scorers were Billingham - Jessica Close(2) and player of the match Rachel Turner Holmes, St. Francis player of the match Sarah Rowbotham (3)
Stock. West End 11 v 1 Seaton Carew
An evenly fought first quarter saw Stockton come out 1-0 up. Stockton came out slightly stronger in the second quarter and were 5-0 up at half time.Stockton's confidence soared and they attacked with zest. At the end of the third quarter it was 9-0. In the final quarter, Stockton still looked strong but eased off towards the end. Seaton worked hard and all credit to them. Scorers were Stockton W.E - Rebecca Moore (2), Sara Ellis (4) and player of the match Vicki Hutchinson (4), one own goal, Seaton Lucy Beha and player of the match was Vicki Martin
Marton 7 v 2 Spraire Lasses
Marton took the lead after 6 minutes and then continued to attack but both keepers were in outstanding form. Spraire equalised on 22 minutes on the break. Marton added 2 more goals making it 3-1 going into the third quarter. Spraire broke again and scored making it 3-2, but Marton replied 2 minutes later. In the final quarter Sammy Conroy scored her hat trick. Players of the match were Emily Bateman and Katie McTague. Scorers, Marton - Samantha Conroy (3), Laura Wilson (2), Felicity Middleton and Stephanie Chisman. Spraire - Laura Gowling (2)
Newcastle 0 v 3 Blyth Town
Newcastle were the stronger team in the first quarter and Blyth were in the second and scored just before half time. The third and fourth quarters were tight and Blyth took advantages of their chances making the final score 3-0. Scorers Player of the match Sarah Page (1), Kathryn Allington (1) and Claire Pitt (1) player of the match for Newcastle was Rachel Armstrong
Lumley Lasses 0 v 7 Boldon
Boldon opened the scoring in the first minute and conitnued to dominate, scoring 4 more goals in the second quarter. Lumley played well but couldnt break the Boldon defence. 2 final goals in the third quarter completed the scoring. Players of the match were Amy Gaskell and Stacey Bonney. Scorers were Jessie Roberts, Victoria Sheriff, Sarah Bowey, Stephania Shaw, Alex Turbitt and Sophie Williams (2)
Under-13s
North Shields Juniors 0 v 5 Newcastle Juniors
Both teams started their season with a competitive match with North Shields playing their first game at a competitive level. They competed well against a skilfull Newcastle squad who were well organised. Players of the match were Ruth Sutcliffe for Newcastle and Charlotte Elliot for North Shields. A special mention to both teams on their sporting behaviour which was a credit to their clubs. Scorers Lisa Moore, Rachel Ball, Claire Stubbs, Ruth Sutcliffe and Elizabeth Tulif.
Norton & Stock. 2 v 4 Lumley Lasses
Norton took an early lead in the first period, with Lumley equalising early into the second 15 minute period. Norton applied pressure and hit the post and bar before finally getting their second before half time. Lumley then started the next period in fine style and finished the stronger team and eventually running out worthy winners. Scorers were Girl of the match for Norton Hayley Pratt (2) and for Lumley Emma Preston, Kristina Minto (2) and player of the match Sarah Unwin.
