Ryhope were involved in a ten-goal thriller with Jarrow St Bedes and it was the Wearsiders who came out on top by a 6-4 margin after establishing a 3-1 interval lead.
Richard Hall rifled a hat-trick and others on target were Shaun Petch, Paul Fenwick and Mark Lawton.
Craig McManus was another player to score three times in Lumley's victory over Herrington. McManus gave Lumley a 3-0 lead before Ryan Rowntree reduced Herrington's deficit in the second period.
Lambton Street, who have yet to win, drew 3-3 with Hebburn in the Subsidiary Cup. Debutant Callum Byrne celebrated giving Hebburn an early advantage before Kevin Morton equalised from the penalty spot. Before the interval Adam Charlton fired the South Tyneside outfit ahead again only for Clayton Avery to find the net for the Wearsiders.
Mark McShane then made the score 3-2 in Hebburn's favour, but the best move of the match was completed by Shaun King to make the final score 3-3.
Dunlop, yet to win, were in a strong position when their tie with Sacriston had to be abandoned after a player broke his arm. At that stage Dunlop were leading 3-0 with strikes by Robert Bulsch (2) and Neil Blue.
