A TASTER event for disabled people who want to learn computer skills or extend their information technology knowledge is being held in Newton Aycliffe.

The Pioneering Care Centre, in Cobbler's Hall, is hosting the Learndirect event on Tuesday, November 5.

the centre will be striving to provide computer access to as wide a range of people as possible.

Anyone wanting to attend, but not interested in a course, can still use the facilities in the information technology training room to access the Internet, send emails or practise existing skills.

The facilities are accessible to everyone and the centre will provide all equipment and has software, which can deal with specific needs of individuals.

The day will be split into two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning session starts at 9.30am and finishes at 11.30am and the afternoon session starts at 12.30pm and finishes at 2.30pm.

A free buffet lunch will be provided from 11.30am. Places are limited, so anyone interested is asked to call to reserve a place.
