PEOPLE in Bishop Auckland have been rediscovering their town through a photography project.
Photographer Louise Taylor thought up the idea, which saw people responding to an advertisement.
Those interested attended a session at the Discovery Centre, in Bishop Auckland market place, where Louise ran through the basics. Then it was up to members to take the photographs.
One participant said: "It has made us look hard at our own town. You see things you have either forgotten about or did not know was there. I've been to places in the last three weeks I hadn't seen since I was a kid."
The project members met again at the Discovery Centre at the weekend to have a look at their pictures and select the best.
An exhibition of the work is to be held at the end of November and each of the members will have at least three photographs included.
It is hoped that the best pictures will be used to produce postcards for sale.
