AN information evening for learner drivers is being held in Darlington next Monday.
With the introduction of a new part of the driving theory test, research has shown that 50 per cent of untrained drivers are likely to fail, rising to 88 per cent when the pass mark is increased.
Research also shows that 99 per cent of drivers who have had specific training for the new part of the test - the hazard perception test - are likely to pass, and 89 per cent with the higher pass rate.
Three Darlington driving instructors, Ken Monkman, Dave Griffiths and Frank Ward, are holding the information day so learners can find out about the training available.
The event is being held between 5pm and 9pm at Cable, 100 Whitby Way, Branksome, Darlington.
