A MUSICAL play that looks at the effects of failed marriages through the eyes of children is to be staged in Crook.
A Family Cookbook, which has been written for children over eight, will be performed by CTC Theatre at the Elite Hall on November 14.
The company produces plays exclusively for children and young people. They have toured the country with about 30 plays.
Under The Apple Tree, for under-fives, won the Barclays TMA award for the best show for children in 2000.
The latest offering, created by Mike Kenny, follows two children who both come from broken homes and show how the situation can have a happy ending.
When the children's parents get married and they become brother and sister they vow to hate each other and split the new family. But in the kitchen of their home a cookbook has been muddled with magical fairytales which help make things change for the better.
Tickets are £3.50 for adults, £2 for concessions, or £7.50 for a family. Free carers' tickets are also available. For details contact Wear Valley Arts on (01388) 761544.
