Lee David Roberts, 20, of Haughton Road, Darlington, admitted stealing nine bottles of Becks beer from Darlington Arts Centre's cellar, when he appeared before Darlington magistrates yesterday.

He was released on bail and will be sentenced on November 28.

MOTORIST BANNED: Joseph Spence, 21, from Hundens Lane, Darlington, was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £100 with £60 costs after admitting drink-driving and driving without insurance.

DRINK-DRIVING: Dean Thomas Richardson, 33, of Glebe Road, Darlington, admitted drink-driving, having no insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with his licence, and having no test certificate yesterday. He will be sentenced on December 3.

SHOP DAMAGE: Gary James Draycott, 22, of Cumberland Street, Darlington, admitted damaging a shop during a scuffle. He was fined £100 with £60 costs.

DRIVING CHARGE: Fred Patterson, 35, of Surtees Street, Darlington, was banned from driving for two years after admitting driving otherwise than in accordance with his licence, having no insurance and having no test certificate. He was also fined £50 and ordered to pay £25 costs.

OFFENCE DENIED: Steven William Farr, 24, of Barningham Street, Darlington, denied driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance. He was remanded on bail until a further hearing on December 3.
