FOUR of the region's finest young folk talents perform this weekend.
Megan Hatto, of Eastgate, County Durham, and Newcastle youngsters Julia Ross, Sarah Jones and Matthew Jones, are part of New Folkus, an eight-strong band comprising the cream of the young folk scene, selected from schools across the North.
Under the tuition of rising folk star Aidan O'Rourke, of band Blazin' Fiddles, the group has performed a string of school concerts, including gigs in Middlesbrough and Whitley Bay.
New Folkus give their final performance in concert with Blazin' Fiddles at Caedmon Hall, Gateshead, on Saturday, at 8.30pm.
Tickets are £8.50, or £6.50 for concessions, and are available from the box office on 0191-477 3478.
