SECONDARY school pupils from Stockton will be taking part in a Harry Potter theme day on Friday.

Grangefield School will turn into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with pupils able to wear Harry Potter-style clothes. Lessons will be based around lessons at Hogwarts. English lessons may turn into spell writing sessions, chemistry lessons could involve making potions and art classes will allow pupils to create Harry Potter related works of art.

Pupils will pay £1 to take part and all the money raised will go towards the school library.

SARA'S NEWS: The next meeting of the Saltburn Animal Rescue Association (Sara) will be held in the TocH Premises, in Albion Terrace, Saltburn, on Wednesday, at 7.30pm. New members are welcome. Sara will also hold a stall at the Ings Farm School craft fair on Saturday, November 16, and a coffee morning in Guisborough Methodist Chapel, High Street, Guisborough, on Saturday, November 30. The group raised more than £2,000 at a recent dog walk. A further £322 was raised at a collection day in Guisborough and £74 was raised at a tabletop sale at the opening of a new play area at the Lakes Estate Field. COUNTRYSIDE FOCUS: Saltburn Photographic Society members Cath and Tony Lynn host two Sunday morning teach-ins at the Saltburn Woodland Centre in November. On Sunday, from 10am to noon, they will look at how to use the different features of a camera, and on Sunday, November 17, again from 10am to noon, they will look at composition. CHRISTMAS PARTIES: Guisborough Town Council will hold two Christmas parties for senior citizens on Thursday and Friday, December 5 and 6, at 2pm, in Sunnyfield House. Free tickets to both events will be available from Sunnyfield House Community Centre on Monday. Tickets are only available to Guisborough with those aged 70 and over having priority.
