HISTORY students brought the past to life last week with a four-day project backed by English Heritage.
Year seven pupils from Wolsingham School and Community College lived like kings and queens for a couple of hours when they toured Warkworth Castle, in Northumberland.
Blyth theatre group Headway led the project with history teacher Roisin McVeigh.
They have helped the pupils make masks, mostly with a medieval theme although some of the students incorporated features from their studies into Roman times.
Ms McVeigh said: "They had a fantastic time exploring the castle and it gave them lots of ideas.
"Bringing lessons to life like this is fun but it is also a wonderful way to learn."
