Motorists across the North-East are being encouraged to help reduce car crime over the festive period.
The RAC Auto Windscreens have launched a safe sack which encourages drivers and their passengers to remove valuables from their car and carry them in the sack.
The sack, which is a form of backpack, has so far proved to be popular across the Cleveland Police force area with many shoppers taking up the offer.
The free sack also contains a booklet full of security tips and a card to place in the car warning potential thieves there is nothing to steal.
The sacks are available from RAC depots and from RAC employees in shopping centres across the region.
