BRIGHT lights and showers of colour will be set to music at a fireworks spectacular in North Yorkshire.
Richmond's annual fireworks display on Tuesday promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a half-hour colour spectacular to impress everybody.
Held in the grounds of Richmond castle, the evening's cocktail of bright lights, toffee apples and music is renowned for its grandeur.
Organiser of the display, Richmond Town Council, has been able to spend more money on the event, following successful numbers and a profit last year.
Spokesman Thomas Burrows said: "This fantastic event has been going for more than 20 years and the town council has supported it for all that time.
"This year, I am sure will be the best yet - as long as the weather is kind to us. We have managed to spend a fair amount more on the fireworks and the display is bound to be the most spectacular one to date.
"Richmond has the perfect setting for a fireworks display, with the lights and colour looking beautiful against the backdrop of the castle.
"So many organisations and clubs help to make the night a success - playing music during the display and providing refreshments - it's a community collaboration."
The fireworks display starts at 7pm and admission is adults £2, children £1.50 and family tickets £5. For more information, contact Richmond Town Council on (01748) 850808.
