Felling Mulberry soon found themselves in trouble against unbeaten Pelton Fell when they trailed to an early penalty from Danny Bankhead.

The Fell then went into a 4-1 lead only for Andy Parkin to pull back another goal for the never-say-die Mulberry lads. Goals continued to be scored on a regular basis with Frank Tiffin hitting a hat-trick for the Fell against a Mulberry side that would not give up and clawed their way back to 5-4 down. But the Fell's superiority eventually told and they went on to win 7-4 with two-goal Derek Willis and Lee Hutchinson also on the mark while the Mulberry's other efforts came from a Gary Harkness double and Jay Pringle.

In a bottom of the table clash, Masons Arms SC lost out by the odd goal in three against Low Fell Jolly Miller with the Masons guilty of missing several good chances. The Masons did net through Martin Gray while the Jolly Miller's double came courtesy of Mick Jenkins and John Robinson to secure a win that lifts them out of the bottom two for the first time this season.

Stanley RAFA lost out against reigning champions 5-1 a scoreline that flattered the winners. The RAFA's consolation goal was bagged by David Watson, with former RAFA player Kelvin Armstrong, Mark Pattison, Mark Drake, Craig Suggett and Roland Lee the Stanley FC marksmen.

In the first round of the Bev Haggett Cup, league leaders Grange Villa beat Pelton Crown with a solitary Marc Ward goal.
