UNDER the captaincy of Simon Gaskell, Thirsk and Northallerton Golf Club won the coveted 2002 Dales Alliance competition with a total of 2,305 points, 42 points clear of Catterick on 2,263.
This is the third year the club has taken part in this 12-match inter-club competition. The five other clubs taking part were Richmond, Catterick, Bedale, Blackwell Grange and Crook.
