Under-12s

SAFC 24/7 Girls 14 v 0 N'castle Jun.

The score did not justify Newcastle who played well but were unlucky not to score. Newcastle pushed forward applying pressure but could not convert their chances. Player of the match for Sunderland was Holly Taylor who also scored twice, for Newcastle it was Gemma Lyle. Other Scorers were Lyndsey Bell and Donna Bolton with three goals each and Lauren Ramshaw (2) Jessica Clarke.

Spraire Lasses 11 v 6 B'ham Girls

Stand-in keeper for Spraire Joanne Wray had to work hard with Billingham on the attack with a strong wind at their backs. Billingham continued to apply the pressure but on the day Spraire had the upper hand running out 11 - 6 winners, this result did not do Billingham justice. Player of the match for Spraire was Laura Gowling who also scored (3) others scorers were Rachel McKnight (3) and Jordan Atkinson (5). Player of the match for Billingham was Amy Plummer who scored once while other scorers were Rachel Turner Holmes and Jessica Close (4).

Wardley Wrens 8 v 2 Lumley Lasses

Despite the weather conditions the game went ahead and was not as one sided as the scorline suggests with both sides having many chances. Goal keepers Emmy Campbell and Amy Gaskell were awarded player of the match for coping so well in difficulf conditions. The game was played in excellent spirit with neither side conceding a free kick. Kirsty Watt scored (4) Victoria Hart (3) and Kirsty Haddock were the scorers for Wardley, and Rachael Kirkup netted (2) for Lumley.

Blyth Town 3 v 0 Low Fell

In wet and windy conditions both teams fought hard to play good football, with the game being close until the final quarter with both sets of girls striving hard to break the dead lock. Low fell player of the match Sophie Parish was in outstanding form in goal making save after save. Blyth took the lead through Laura Fawcus before scoring 2 late goals through Sarah Grahamslaw to seal the game. Player of the match for Blyth was Rachel Wilson.

Under-13s

Newcastle Juniors 1 v 1 Blyth Town

This proved to be an excellent game of football between two teams who gave their all, with Blyth starting the stronger of the two teams. Newcastle quickly settled into the game with the score remaining goalless until the third quarter when Newcastle took the lead through girl of the match Ruth Sutcliffe The lead did not last long though with Blyth equalising through Rachel Lee.The game ebbed and flowed with Newcastle applying the pressure on Blyth but Sara Scovell in goal for Blyth made some great save ensuring that the score remained level and earning her the player of the game for Blyth.

Under-14s

Lumley Lasses 1 v 10 Newcastle

A strong wind and heavy pitch made for difficult conditions especially for the younger Lumley team. Newcastle dominated for long periods as Lumley struggled to clear their lines. Player of the match for Lumley was keeper Chloe Bailey who prevented a heavier defeat. Hat tricks by Anna Stokoe and Danielle Clasper with Emma Wilkinson, Laura Jobson, Ashleigh Tiplady and Sheree Thompson completing the scoring Player of the match for Newcastle was Kelly Moorhead.

Boldon 22 v 0 Forest Hall

Forest Hall took to the field with only seven players who put up a spirited display but were soon on the receiving end of a Boldon onslaught. Despite overnight rain the pitch was in perfect condition allowing for good passing football. Player of the match for Boldon was Lauren Lang and Sam Etherington for Forest Hall.
