POLICE are starting an amnesty aimed at cutting the number of air weapons and ball bearing guns on the streets.
The campaign in Newcastle East follows successful initiatives in other parts of the Northumbria Police.
Weapons can be surrendered anonymously either in a secure bin at the front foyer of Byker police station on Tyneside or handed over the counter to officers up until Sunday, December 1.
