HEROIN with a street value of £60,000 was siezed during a raid on a house in Billingham.
Stockton Drug Unit carried out the search at an address in the town's Mendip Road area on Thursday night.
A 40-year-old man has been charged with posession of heroin and is due to appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court this morning.
Drugs and other items recovered are to be sent for forensic tests.
Sergeant Tony Rock, of Stockton's Drug Unit said: "This was a very successful operation resulting in the recovery of enough heroin to produce 6,000 street deals.
"This will obviously cause major disruption to the supply of heroin in this area.
"We are determined to target dealers of heroin and crack cocaine and will not tolerate anybody dealing in these addictive and dangerous drugs."
