MEG the dog has found a new home just days after an appeal in The Northern Echo.
Four-year-old Meg, who has recovered from a cataract operation to restore her sight, is moving from a National Animal Sanctuary Support League (NASSL) foster home in Darlington to Brompton-on-Swale, near Richmond.
Meg captured the hearts of readers of The Northern Echo when, earlier this year, we revealed she was blind and needed a pioneering operation to restore her sight.
Donations flooded into NASSL to pay for the treatment and readers have continued to contact the charity to find out how she is getting on.
After the appeal to find her a new home appeared in Thursday's paper, the league was inundated with inquiries.
Pauline Wilson from NASSL said: "In about a fortnight she will be moving to Brompton-on-Swale to live with a lady who already has two elderly dogs
"It is an ideal situation because Meg will benefit from having the company of other dogs.
"She will be very happy and loved and we are delighted to have found her somewhere so nice so soon."
