THE North-East's Muslim community will be able to listen to this month's Ramadan festival over the airwaves.
The Radio Authority yesterday announced that two radio stations in the region have been given short-term licences to broadcast Ramadan celebrations from Tuesday.
The two stations are Tees Fast FM Radio Ramadan, based in Middlesbrough, on 107.1FM, and Fast FM Newcastle on 87.9FM.
The short-term licences have been issued for a maximum of 28 days to cover a limited geographical area, usually about 3km from the station.
