A DARLINGTON school has gained an Investors in People award.
Hurworth Comprehensive School has received the award because of the efforts of headteacher Eamon Farrar, after a period of low results and morale.
He drew up a strategy to improve community relations with the school.
Mr Farrar said: "At the end of the day, it's everything you do, not one thing, one method, one scheme. It is the way in which you relate to people that will determine whether or not you achieve success.
"Through Investors in People, there is an enormous strength within the school - this family-like feeling - but it's also a business-like institution."
