HOSPITAL CONCERT: The Alverton Singers are giving a concert in aid of the Friends of the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, on Saturday, November 23, at 7.30pm. The event is in the Friarage recreation hall. Tickets, at £3.50 or £3 for concessions, are available from the Friends of the Friarage shop at the hospital.
BIRTHDAY PLAY: The Allerton Players are celebrating their 60th anniversary by staging the Second World War play And A Nightingale Sang. The production is at the Hambleton Forum from Thursday to Saturday, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 and are available from Northallerton HSBC bank, Greensleeves and at the door.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: York Musical Society is performing at the city's Minster on Saturday, December 7. The Christmas concert, also featuring carols and readings, will start at 7.30pm. Tickets cost between £4.50 and £14 and are available at York Theatre Royal, at the door or by calling (01904) 623568.

TREASURE HUNT: The Bedale branch of Skipton Building Society is encouraging people to take part in competitions to support Children in Need. People can visit the branch to make a donation and take part in a word search and treasure hunt. Nursery children are also helping by taking part in a colouring competition. Their work will be on display in the office on November 14 and 15.
