GUIDED WALK: An eight-and-a-half-mile Causey, Beamish and Carricks Hill walk is being led by David Butler at 10.30am on Sunday, from the Causey Arch Picnic area.
Local clinic: An ongoing baby clinic is held from 9am to 10am each Thursday in the Delves Lane village hall.
Puppet play: Pinnochio is being staged by the Stanley Variety Troupe at 7pm each night until Saturday in the Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley.
LEARNING WALK: Maurice Holliday is leading a seven-mile literary walk in the Upper Derwent Valley, at 10.30am on Friday, from the main car park in Blanchland.
FREE CRECHE: Sure Start holds a free drop-in creche from 1.30pm to 5pm on Mondays and 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Fridays in the Play Den. Booking is essential.
MIND MEETING: An open day is being held from 1pm to 4pm today, by Derwentside Mind, in the Consett premises. It will be followed by their annual meeting at 5.30pm.
FILM BUFFS: The Lamplight Arts Centre is holding a Classic Cinema Session at 1.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month. The £1.50 entry fee includes tea or coffee and a biscuit.
