STAFF and students at a college for the visually impaired have been offering their ideas into how to make websites more user-friendly.
Students at the Henshaws College in Harrogate discussed ways in which the Millennium Volunteers' (MV) website and marketing materials could be more accessible.
The college offers further education to young blind or visually impaired people who have additional disabilities. Under the initiative, the student volunteers have helped in the running of many activities in the college, such as discos and karaokes.
The MV headquarters at Sheffield is looking to improve its website and called upon the staff and volunteers to contribute.
Zoe Ricketts, student project support worker, said: "This is something that the majority of websites and marketing tools do not appear to take into account - visually impaired people can have real difficulties accessing information. "
