COMPANIES are being asked to release employees to become "business ambassadors" in the North-East.
The ambassador scheme has been running in County Durham and Darlington for more than ten years and in Newcastle for two years.
The aim is to improve links between business and schools and to support employee development.
Companies are being asked to release workers for two days' free training with Newcastle Education Business Partnership.
After training, ambassadors will be asked to take part in a range of projects in schools for up to three days over the next three years.
Activities will involve primary and secondary school pupils in a variety of projects, including industry days, interviewing skills and problem-solving.
Business ambassadors can attend the training course at Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, Kingston Park, on November 12 and 18, or January 16 and 23.
