A TOWN really is flying the flag - a green one.
Middlesbrough's Albert Park, Stewart Park and Pallister Park have all won Civic Trust Green Flag awards, symbols of excellence.
It is the first time for Albert Park, the third time for Stewart Park and the second year for Pallister.
Middlesbrough Council staff received mention for their enthusiasm and commitment at both Albert and Stewart parks.
Judges had a special word to say about the restoration work carried out by prisoners for Albert Park.
Pallister Park was singled out for its policy on maintenance while its litter and waste management programme was deemed excellent
