STAFF from a Darlington bingo club have been taking part in a sponsored bike ride for charity.
Five workers from Gala Bingo, in Skinnergate, set off from Gala's Newcastle club at 11.30am and cycled more than 44 miles to the Darlington branch, arriving at 4.40pm. Assistant manager Paul Culver, 28, said the group had raised about £3,500 for Macmillan Cancer Relief. "I came up with the idea as I have just moved here from the Newcastle branch. It is 44.7 miles, so I thought it would be quite easily achievable on bikes," he said.
