MORE than 250 youngsters from all over North Yorkshire rolled up with their skateboards for the county's first Skate Fest.
Organised by North Yorkshire County Council's Connecting Youth Culture arts project, in partnership with Northallerton's Sketchy Wheelers, the event was staged at the Hambleton Forum in Northallerton.
The skaters were kept busy with a 12ft indoor half-pipe, graffiti and board customising.
Professional skaters Danny Callow and Mike Forman also shared tips with the skaters and Mike said afterwards: "It's great to see the local community supporting the young people in this way."
Event leader Richie Mitchell said: "This was a really amazing event with so many youngsters from all over the county enjoying life to the full."
Bands performed at the end of the day, which raised £500 for Northallerton skate park.
