CAROL singers are being sought to bring a touch of Christmas spirit to an ice rink.
The Centre for Life in Newcastle is looking for choirs from around the region to sing at its temporary rink.
All groups will be invited to bring their collection tins to raise money for their chosen charity.
The rink will be situated outside the science centre from Saturday, November 30, to Sunday, December 22. Groups interested in performing should contact 0191-243 8208.
A similar scheme in Durham hopes to attract about 15,000 people to the city. The 300 square metre rink will stand next to the Gala Theatre, in Millennium Square, from Thursday to Sunday, January 5, and will be open from 9.45am to 8pm.
There will be coaching, plus music, lights and an outdoor bistro.
Tickets are £5 or £4 for concessions and are available from the Gala Theatre or from organiser, Aria Ice, on (01642) 659955.
