Wolviston could find Ferryhill Athletic a different proposition to the side they defeated last month when they meet in the second round of the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup this afternoon.

Ferryhill have shown considerable improvement in recent weeks and although they miss Kaljit Sander and Mark Foster, manager Mark Lanning reports that Jason Cotterill and Liam Parsons are both able to play.

"Wolviston beat us 3-0 in our first match but I am confident we can give them a good game today," said Lanning.

Wolviston are boosted by the availability of midfielder Keiron White and central defender Craig Watson, while Darren Paul also resumes after having trials with Kettering Town. Their only doubt surrounds the fitness of leading scorer Andy Steele, who is struggling to shake off a calf injury.

Darlington RA manager David Woodcock cannot call upon Gary Hornsby, Mark Hebdon, Gary Laws or Mark Radmore at Boldon CA who will look to bounce back from last week's heavy defeat.

In contrast to their opponents, Boldon welcome the availability of Gordon Williams and Christopher Barrett. Boss Norman Hunter is hopeful that Stephen Handy and Graham Nesbitt will also be able to turn out.

Improving Cleadon SC host Ryhope CW minus Chris Bailey, who will not play until the new year after breaking an elbow in Sunday football. Secretary Dougie Key reports that Kevin Hurst and Mark Pearce are also sidelined and he is hopeful that David Watson will pass a fitness test.

North Shields, who have won their last five league games, travel to Jarrow with Simon Bradford returning to keep goal. Barry Gibson and Martin Lower are also named but youngsters Robert Wake and Paul Blakey are doubtful through injury.

New Marske face a stiff test at home to Birtley Town. Secretary Peter Livingstone is pleased to have Darren Henry available again following duty with North Riding County. In addition, David Brown and Ian Mudd come into contention but Craig Owens is definitely out and both Gary Owens and Simon Welsh are doubtful.

New signing Aaron Hodgson lines up in the Stanley United attack against Redcar Town at Hill Top. He will be joined in the attack by top scorer Aaron Scott but Michael Dixon, Chris Burn and Joncharles Gott are all absent.

Leaders Stokesley SC expect to be at full strength for the visit of Harton and Westoe with Mark Cooper and Greg Robson resuming.

Only one game will be played in the league and Annfield Plain are strengthened with Kevin Dixon, Stephen Watchman and Chris Soulsby all included in the squad against Whitehaven.
