THREE students from Darlington College of Technology have been getting in some last-minute practice before taking part in a national hairdressing competition.
Joanne Barras, 18, Veronica Copeland, 25, and Sarah Walker, 17, are representing the college in the Davines Colour Trophy, which is being held in Glasgow on Sunday, November 10.
The trio, who are all from Darlington and studying for an NVQ in hairdressing, will be up against dozens of other students from across the country.
They were selected to represent the college after sending in photographs of models whose hair they had styled, as well as doing their make-up and choosing their clothes.
At the final, they will have to repeat the process at Davine's studio and they will then be judged on a catwalk show.
The overall winner of the competition will win a trip to Davines' headquarters, in Italy.
Diane Radford, programme manager at the college, said: "Joanne, Veronica and Sarah are all very talented and I am sure they will do the college proud."
