Greenfield School Community and Arts Centre in Newton Aycliffe is seeking performers for the Great Aycliffe Show's playhouse marquee event, over two days next summer.

STAR GUEST: Ferryhill Town Band will perform at Elvet Church, Durham City, on Friday, November 29, with guest bass player Joe Cook, from the Black Dyke Band. The concert starts at 7.30pm. HORSEBOX STOLEN: A green Mercedes horsebox, registration J658 OPF, was stolen from Hill House Farm, Newton Aycliffe, between 3pm on Monday and 9.30am on Tuesday.

SHED RAID: A silver Mongoose BMX bike, an eight-speed mountain bike, Flymo petrol strimmer and a Mig welder were stolen from a garden shed in West Chilton Terrace, Chilton, between 10.30pm on Monday and 9.15am on Tuesday.

CHARITY DAY: Children at Hurworth Comprehensive School, near Darlington will be covering a large picture of Pudsey Bear with coins and having a non-uniform day to raise money for BBC TV's Children in Need appeal tomorrow.

TABLE-TOP SALE: A table-top sale is being held at the Quaker House, Skinnergate, Darlington, on Saturday, at 9am.
