A stonemason has become a member of an historic order.
Iain Wilmshurst has been sworn in as a Durham City Freeman and a member of the Company of Carriers and Tallow Chandlers, which was founded in the city in 1570.
Mr Wilmshurst has worked at Durham Cathedral since the mid-1970s, when he started as an apprentice mason.
