A NEW boss has been appointed for the marketing team of the organisation behind the region's biggest farming event.
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society has promoted Fiona Movley to marketing manager with immediate effect, She joined the department in January.
She will have responsibility for promoting the society's growing range of activities as well as the annual Great Yorkshire Show, where her particular focus will be developing the event's sponsorship portfolio.
Last month, the society announced it is to run a sister event to the show which will make its debut next autumn. Ms Movley will play a key role in its organisation and promotion.
She succeeds Heather Parry, who recently became managing director of the society's trading arm, Yorkshire Agricultural Enterprises.
Born and brought up in Harrogate, Ms Movley is best known for her role as fund-raising manager at St Michael's Hospice.
The society's chief executive, Nigel Pulling, said: "With the activities of the society expanding, this is an exciting and challenging role."
