A SERIES of exhibitions are being held next week to give the public a chance to see the results of flooding studies which have been carried out in the Hambleton area.
A number of areas in the district have been badly hit over the past two years, including Brompton, Romanby and Northallerton.
County council consultants Mouchel and Yorkshire Water, have carried out a study of the problem areas and drawn up a number of possible solutions.
Director of environmental services, Mike Moore, said: "Everyone living in the area is well aware of the destructive flooding which took place in 2000 and again this year.
"Working with the district council and Yorkshire Water we have been able to identify some schemes which we believe could be put in place quickly, which would go some way towards easing the problems."
Also on view at the exhibitions will be some options for the future. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The first display will be at the Hambleton Forum, in Bullamoor Road, Northallerton, on Tuesday, followed by Brompton Village Hall on Wednesday and Northallerton Cricket Club, in Romanby, next Thursday. Each exhibition will be from 3pm to 8pm.
