ONE of North Yorkshire's top tourist attractions is appealing to the Government to safeguard its latest attraction.
Flamingoland, between Malton and Pickering, opened the 55 metre-high Cliffhanger ride earlier this year.
But neighbours complained the tower was an eyesore and Ryedale District councillors ruled enforcement action must be taken to strip it of its red-and-white striped cladding, leaving an open lattice.
A Flamingo Land spokesman said the company would appeal to the highest court in the land, and is preparing an appeal to Government inspectors.
Joint owner Melanie Wood said: "We will obviously be attending the appeal - we feel we have a strong case."
