St. Mary's Coll. OB 5 v 3 Sth. Bank Utd
College emerged victorious thanks to an opening half that saw them race into a three-goal lead thanks to goals from Ian Blakemore (2) and Dave Aspery. Ten minutes from time College restored their two goal advantage before Eddie Johnson put the result beyond doubt from 25 yards.
Woodman's Ar. 2 v 5 B&H King's Head
Woodman's found themselves two goals down after 20 minutes but a stunning volley from Chris Mothersill brought them back into the game. Paul Burke fired home the equaliser but their comeback was stopped when King's Head restored their lead. The Woodman's problems were compounded when an injury reduced them to ten men and found themselves facing an uphill task when the King's Head added two more. On the mark for the visitors were Brain Crawley (2), Jason Sollett, Lee Johnson and John Bell.
M'brough PO 4 v 1 The Grenadier
The game got off to a flier with the Grenadier taking the lead inside the first minute and the Post Office bouncing back through Lee Hogg with only two minutes on the clock. The goal rush calmed down for a while before David Mills crossed for Paul Davies to head the Posties in front. Post Office continued to create the better of the chances after the break and deservedly increased their lead when Hogg centred for John Leach to score at the far post with a looping header. Ten minutes from time, Davies was on the mark again scoring from close range following a free kick from Ian Mills.
Ennis Square 3 v 2 Coulby Newham
There was little to choose between the sides in the first half with Ennis taking the lead until Mark Salvati hit the equaliser. Five minutes into the second period, Ennis were back in front only for Salvati to bring Coulby level terms once again with a thundering 25 yard free kick. Extra time was beginning to look a distinct possibility when Ennis were awarded a penalty which they duly converted to book their place in the second round of the competition.

Minutes later, Coke Ovens fight back was complete when Graham Watson headed Lee Stephenson's corner goalward for Gregory to redirect the ball into the back of the net
