Tow Law Dan's Castle celebrated only their second victory of the season when they visited Sunniside Moss Inn, but it was the one that lifted them from the foot of the table.
The Castle opened out in fine style by taking both trebles points and went on to clinch the win when Luke Johnson, Rachel Heppell, Wayne Tennant and Alan Tulip won singles. The Moss replied with singles points from Bob Wilson and Lol Cullinan and then went on to take all three doubles points.
The league leaders, Tow Law New Market A were only able to share the singles with the visiting Sunniside Comedian but took all the other points to stay fourteen points ahead. Darren yeoman, Kenneth Atkinson and David Dixon won singles for the Market, whilst Bob Peacock, Dave Ferguson and Carl Wilcockson replied.
The leading individual scorers were B. Hurd 180 and K. Brown 140 for Hamilton Row, K. Starr two 140's for McKennas and C. Boughey, J. Jordan and S. Boughey 140 each for the Cattle Mart,
