Darlington Mount Pleasant Rangers: The Under-12s A Team played at home against South Bank Juniors in a league game and dominated from start to finish.
The score ended 6-0 to Rangers. Rangers scorers were Mikey Smith (2), Gary Martin, Sean Lowe, Grant Hickman and man of the match Scott Hastie.
The B Team also played at home against local rivals Albion and after some brilliant football were beaten 5-1. Rangers scorer was Chrissy Holiday. Man of the match went to Dale Askew who made his debut for Rangers in goal.
The Under-11s A Team played a league game at home to Trimdon United. The game was superb with excellent football being played by both teams, but after looking at going to a 3-3 draw, Joe Clare, on his Rangers debut, scored his second of the game to clinch a well deserved 4-3 victory for Rangers. Rangers scorers were Joe Clare (2), Mchael Gillender and captain Tom Smalley. Man of the match was David Johnston.
The Under-9s played away to Spraire Lads in the league and started very strongly for a newly formed team. The game was very even until Rangers defender Shane Hall got taken off injured. The score ended 5-0 to Spraire. Man of the match for Rangers was Reece Hooper. The manager, coaches and players all wish Shane a speedy recovery.
A friendly followed which ended 7-0 to the home team. Man of the match for Rangers went to Natalie Rimmer.
The Under-8s A Team played at home against Redcar Town in the quarter finals of the cup and after some good battling from the home side lost 5-0 to a strong Redcar. Man of the match for Rangers was Euan Legg.
The B Team played a friendly against the same team and won 1-0. Man of the match for Rangers was Stephen Richardson.

Darlington Spraire Lads
It was a mixture of league and cup for Spraire this week. The Under-9s were at home to Mount Pleasant in the Cup winning 5-0 with Sam Liddle getting a brace, Zac Tervit and man of the match Kerry Hedley getting two. In the friendly afterwards Spraire won 10-0 with Zac Tervit (3), Sam Liddle (2) Matty Plumb, Ben Tervit, Danny Stead , Ryan Allinson and a own goal providing the goals.
The Under-16s competed in the Durham cup third round against Washington Nissan. Spraire took up where they left off last week and only a combination of the keeper and cross bar stopped Wincup opening the scoring. With both teams playing good football Spraire were the first to strike, then adding a second before half time. An all-round good team performance saw Spraire win 4-2. The two mobile strikers Grant and Hanson bagging two each. Thanks to excellent balls through from a strong midfield, who in turn gained confidence from the sound defence behind them.
At Under-14 Spraire continued there promotion push with a 7-1 victory over Fishburn Boys with goals coming from man of the match Micheal Lavelle (2), Davison, Howard and a remarkable hat trick for sub Micheal Ward who was only on 20 minutes.
Spraire Lads Under-14B match against Grangefield was a thoroughly entertaining encounter with Spraire edging it 3-2. Grangefield took advantage of indecision in the Spraire defence to take an early lead. Grangefield extended their lead shortly after with an excellent counter attack. Spraire had plenty of chances to get back into the match before the interval but Grangefield's keeper was in outstanding form. Spraire eventually reduced the arrears ten minutes into the second half when Clarke slammed the ball into the roof of the net. Spraire maintained the pressure and McBride equalised five minutes later. Spraire's tails were now up and they went in search of a winner but it looked as if time would eventually run-out before McBride forced the ball home to score a last minute winner. Boyce was awarded man of the match for his disciplined performance in midfield.
After a long spell without a game the Under-7s went down 2-0 away to Eldon Lions in the cup. Eldon took the lead through an unfortunate own goal in the first half but despite this Spraire Lads battled hard with Lee Varley, Joe Mount and Josh Norris putting in some important tackles.
In the second half Lewis Green of Eldon put them further in front. A great save from Jake Wood in the Spraire goal prevented Eldon from going further ahead. Man of the match honours go to Josh Norris of Spraire.
Darlington 21st Allstars
Waterlogged pitches did not stop the goal rush by the Allstars. Once again the weather played a big part in the outcome of matches, but this did not deter the Under-11s who were away to Hartburn Juniors. This was a good all-round team performance, with all squad members getting a run out. Allstars raced into the lead with two early goals from Jack Johns and Lee Gibbon. Hartburn replied but the Allstars came back through a Lee Gibbon header and a Dale Dixon finish to make it 4-1 at half time. The second half saw a scorching drive from Darren Swankie and two more Jack Johns instinctive finishes, plus a great bustling run from Darren Bland hitting the back of the net, resulting in an excellent 8-1 victory. Scorers were Jack Johns (3), Lee Gibbon (2), Dale Dixon, Darren Swankie and Darren Bland while Ben Riley was named man of the match for an accomplished defensive display.
The Under-15s who were hosts to Billingham Town in the league. In extremely difficult conditions, the Allstars played some tremendous football, with fast flowing passes and excellent midfield support. This was once again a fantastic all-round team performance resulting in a well-deserved 5-0 victory. Scorers were Adam Sams (2), David McDade, Dale Thomas and Phillip Grainger. Robert Lodge was given the man of the match.
The Under-10s were hosts to Hartlepool's St Francis 2000, romping home to a 6-0 victory. The Allstars settled early and quickly punished St Francis with a hat trick by Danny Thompson. Jack Whittaker followed up with two goals and Josh Phillips also hit the back of the net. Scorers were Danny Thompson (3), Jack Whittaker (2) and Josh Phillips. Man of the match was Josh Phillips.
The Allstars also won the friendly match 2-1 with a goal from Jonathon Stokoe and a 20 yard scorcher by Darren Hawes who was also awarded man of the match.
The Under-11 Colts were hosts to Ferryhill in the league and battled through very boggy conditions. The Allstars started the match with confidence and quickly settled with some excellent flowing passes and good attacking football. This well-spirited team performance resulted in a tremendous 5-1 victory. Scorers were Ryan Ford (2), Danny Spence and Dion Sung (2) who was also awarded man of the match.
The Under-15 Colts travelled to Seaton Carew in the league and pulled off a fine 3-1 victory. On a heavy, sticky pitch, the Allstars found it difficult to settle and were 1-0 down at half time. A more determined Allstars team performance in the second half, put Seaton Carew under pressure with some fast flowing football and outstanding goals. A fine spirited performance and a well-deserved hat trick for Adam. Scorers were Adam Yeodon (3) and man of the match was Adam Yeodon.
The Under-12s were at home to Leven and gave a battling performance in very testing conditions. Leven settled quickly taking the lead, but the Allstars showed determination and character scoring two goals to win the match 2-1. A fantastic all round team performance. Scorers were Ross Kelly, Ian Smurthwaite and man of the match was Wayne Hall.
Brunton Park Juniors were hosts to the Under-17s in a nail-biting league match. The Allstars fielded an under-strength team, but gave a spirited performance on a heavy pitch in difficult conditions. The match ended in a 5-5 draw and all credit goes to the team for this fine team performance. Scorers were Tommy Wright (2), Andy Edgworth (2) and Gary Buckley, John Clegg was man of the match.
The Under-13s were away to Hartburn Juniors in the league and after a hard fought match, the Allstars clinched a 2-1 victory. Jack Henderson shrugged off the Hartburn defence scoring his first goal from 25 yards. Hartburn equalised and the first half ended 1-1. In the second half the Allstars stepped up a gear with Jack Henderson scoring his second goal from 18 yards. Bradley Woods stepped in as centre-back after a hand injury prevented him from playing in goal and after an excellent performance was awarded man of the match. Scorers were Jack Henderson (2) and Bradley Woods was man of the match.
The Under-14s were at home to Norton and Stockton in this re-arranged league match. This was a very entertaining match with end to end football and two evenly matched teams. Scott Wilson opened the scoring for the Allstars and with 10 minutes to go the score line was 4-2. Norton and Stockton picked up their game and were lucky to clinch two late goals resulting in a 4-4 draw at full time. Scorers were Scott Wilson (2) and Nick Fox and Thomas Shann while man of the match went to Callum Tevendale.
Darlington Albion
THE Under-9s played two games away against Catterick Village. In a hard-fought match against a strong Catterick side the Albion showed great determination to grind out a 2-0 win. Scorers were J Scarr and J Carr while man of the match was awarded to the whole team.
Game two was an excellent game which ended 3-3. After going 1-0 down the Albion fought back and scored three goals in two minutes, M. Bell's being very well taken. In the second half the Albion continued to look for more goals, Catterick however notched two late goals to level the match. The two other Albion marksmen were D Longstaff and R Lewis while the whole team were again awarded man of the match.
The Under-12s played away against Mount Pleasant Rangers in what was a good performance by Albion which saw captain Phil Caley get his hat-trick and two goals by Chris Farlow. Final score was 5-1 to Albion. Man of the match was Kieran Springett.
