TIM Hood of Marske rounded off a remarkable season when he was presented with the North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League player of the year award.
He is pictured above receiving the accolade from David Copland, marketing and communications manager at Darlington Building Society, at the league's annual presentation evening held recently at Billingham Synthonia Recreation Club.
The society has sponsored the NYSD league for 12 consecutive seasons, believed to be something of a record in local sports sponsorship.
Hood's record for the year included 536 runs at an average of 25.59 and 59 wickets at an average of 18.07. In addition, he took five or more wickets on five separate occasions.
