Pitt hit his first after three minutes but had to wait until 58 minutes for his second. Gary Robson made it 3-0 and Pitt got his hat-trick with a penalty.

Belford House just pipped Brandon Station in a close game to keep their second place in the league. They led through Michael Conner but went behind before the interval thanks to goals by John Bell and David Fort in 40. Michael Agnew equalised for Belford then Conner's second goal clinched it.

Sporting Club Sunderland beat Spennymoor Black & Decker 4-1 in an end-to-end game. They were ahead when Barry Cook neatly chipped the ball over the keeper but B&D drew level when Paul Arnott scored. John Young put Sporting Club in the lead with a header but it all went wrong for B&D whose keeper was sent off after 70 minutes. After Sporting Club scored twice more through John Cairns and Gavin Wilson.

Shildon Railway won 4-2 at home to Ebchester FC. They trailed against the run of play when Chris Parker put Ebchester in the lead but after the break Neil Robinson equalised with a fine solo effort. Kevin Hall put Shildon in the lead with a brace before Chris Parkin reduced the arrears but Robinson notched again to end the scoring.

Hartlepool Town won 2-0 at Springwell Village with Steve Ashton to thank for both goals. Andrew Maddix was outstanding in goal for Springwell.

Coxhoe Athletic scraped through with a 2-1 win at home to Birtley Town Reserves. They led after 30 minutes when Alan Tolley tapped in after an error by the Birtley keeper. John Summerville equalised before Tolley earned Coxhoe the three points.

Cockfield go through to the next round of the South Durham Charity Bowl, defeating Darlington GOSB 6-0, with goals from Mathew Dixon (3), Tim Hall, Darren Fletcher and Paul Dunn.

Durham Victoria Bridge trounced Simonside SC 5-1 in the Washington Aged Peoples Trophy. They were behind via an own goal before strikes from Darren Burnham (3) and Kenny Maling gave them victory.
