A NORTH-EAST museum has been awarded £11,000 to work with schools in the region.
The Clore Duffield Foundation Award will be used by Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, County Dur-ham, to fund a two-year project involving more than 70 schools in the North-East.
The scheme includes professional artists visiting schools for a day to work with pupils, and will be led by the museum's education officer, Lisa Jeffries.
The artists' work in schools will be based on collections at the museum, and the project is aimed at encouraging schools to visit the museum.
To find out more, contact the museum on (01833) 690606.
