Crowtrees B were able to celebrate their first ever victory in the League when they visited Tow Law and came through in the decider.
Heppell Hodghson put the Lawyers ahead but then Martin Wolf and Terry Gibson moved the visitors in front. Charlie Donaghy levelled the match but then the celebrations began when Dave Taylor beat Arthur Henderson in the decider.
In the First Division Sherburn Village, newly promoted, took a prestigious scalp when they beat the visiting Wheatley Hill A by the odd point. The Sherburn team took the first three points through Adrian Twist, Scott Mallaburn and John Bower, whilst the Hill stayed in touch with the league leaders by taking the last two points through Alan Hall and Ronnie Peacock.
The top of the table clash in the Second Division at Newhouse ended with an odd point win for the home side over Hunwick A. John Maddox put Newhouse ahead but then Jason Lee and Neville Blenkinsopp put Hunwick ahead. Ian Dinsdale levelled the match and Steve N Mountain went on to beat Norman Kirkley in the decider.
Spennymoor A held on to their one point lead at the top of the First Division after they beat their hosts, Newton Aycliffe in the decider. Simon Tweddle put the home side ahead but then the Moors had wins from Eddie Rhodes and Paul Biddle. Ronnie Hall equalised but then Paul Atkinson took the Moors through by beating Bill Barrigan in the decider.
Spennymoor B moved up to share the top spot in the Second Division with Newhouse after they only dropped one point to the visiting Stanley Central, who had Harry Grimes as their only winner. The home winners were Wayne Parry, Phil Wilson, David Louth and Alan Rowell.
Hunwick B moved two points clear at the top of the Third Division when they whitewashed the visiting Leeholme B with wins from Trevor Lomax, Barry Fleming, Tom Ward, John Bate and David Penman.
Sacriston maintained their second place in the Third Division after beating the visiting New Durham in the decider. Phil Garr put the visitors ahead but then Mark Appleby and Dale Evans scored for the home side. Kevin Scullion levelled the match but then Sacristion's Steve Bradley beat Wilf Coulthard in the decider.
Old Shildon moved up to share the second place in the First Division with their visitors from Cockton Hill after winning by the odd point. The Shildon side moved into a three points lead with wins from Charlie Blake, Michael Pratt and Billy Goggins. The visitors made the score respectable with late wins from Andrew Aisbitt with a 45 break and George Chapman.
Brandon shook over memories of last week's whitewash defeat when they travelled to Shotton Palms and won by the odd point to move level with Wheatley Hill A in the First Division. Paul Hickman and Dave Swindle scored for the Palms with Graeme Jackson, Kevin Sample and John Hall taking Brandon to victory.
Willington pulled off an excellent away victory over the title chasing Fishburn A when they took the first three frames through Arthur Goldsborough, Jeremy Martin and Stan Bennett. However the home side retaliated and took the remaining points through John Griffin and John Carter.
Witton Gilbert went two up at Meadowfield with wins from Paul Bennett and Ian Renwick. The home side equalised through Malcolm Hughes and Craig Hughes but the visitors edged to victory when John Rooney junior beat John Jackson in the decider.
Belmont moved up to share third place in the Second Division with Hunwick A after they took the first three points on their visit to Langley Park. Billy McGrath, Chris Morley and Steven Armstrong with a 35 break won for the visitors, whilst Paul Nord and Stephen Renwick took the last two points for the Park.
Bearpark continued to edge their way up the Second Division table and are now only two points behind the leaders after beating their hosts at Wheatley Hill B in the decider. Ken Johnson put the Hill ahead but then Glen Morton equalised. Jock Frost put in a 32 break to restore the home lead only to see Shaun Easter level. In the decider Bearpark's David Jackson beat Tony Ellison.
Durham City took over the third place in the Third Division after they only dropped one point to the visiting Fishburn B, whose point came from Winston Hodgson. The City winners were Eric Wright, John Nelson, Barry Stoddart and Michael Pratt.
Coundon went three up at Crook Belle Vue with wins from Wily Shoulder, Dennis Payne and Mally Ryder but the home side fought back with wins from Eric Lockerbie and Derek Potts.
